Professor Hernandez and members of the Hernandez Research Group help support the education and scientific training of people from all walks of society through mentorship of undergraduate researchers and service to affinity organizations.

Professor Hernandez and the Hernandez Research Group have a 25 year history of collaboration with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.  Dr. Hernandez leads professional development efforts at the national meeting of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Dr. Hernandez’s efforts involve assisting with mentoring undergraduates, graduate students and junior faculty at the SHPE meeting.
